This is the excellent new Mercedes GLS which has just gone on sale and the first deliveries will arrive in the autumn.
With prices starting at £73,995 OTR, drivers can expect an impressive offering and it really does deliver.

Engines for the new Mercedes GLS
From launch, engines for the new Mercedes GLS will feature just one diesel unit but more engines will arrive by the end of 2019.
However, that diesel unit is a 3.0 litre six-cylinder engine that produces 330 HP and torque of 700 Nm to deliver an impressive 0 to 62 mph sprint time of 6.3 seconds.
Despite its size and weight, the GLS will go on to a top speed of 148 mph while returning around 36 mpg.
It’s also possible to add the firm’s off-road package for £1,495 that will introduce low range transmission, dynamic control, torque-on-demand for better traction and all-wheel drive.
Mercedes GLS is a great performer
While the new Mercedes GLS is a great performer on roads and a decent vehicle off-road, it’s packed with luxury and a well-designed interior.
Premium models come with air suspension with active damping, a surround sound system, heated front and rear seats and 22-inch light alloy wheels.
There’s also a parking package offering a 360° camera for safety, ‘MagicVision’ control, a head-up display and keyless-go.
The automatic sliding panoramic roof works well and some models feature rear seat entertainment and a temperature controlled cupholder for the seats in the front.

Other features include heated front and rear armrests, while the Premium Plus Executive GLS features multi-contour rear seats with massage function, 23-inch light alloy wheels, electric sun blinds for the rear doors and a leather multifunction steering wheel.
The Mercedes GLS enters a competitive part of the market and it is an SUV with a great all-round offering, impressive looks and nice handling to deliver a very comfortable and well-designed vehicle.
