This is the impressive new Kia Ceed which has received its worldwide debut and it now dispenses with the cee’d name.
Kia have also unveiled a new Ceed Sportswagon and there are upgrades to the Optima range and a new sport inspired Rio GT line which has also made a debut.
This is the third generation of the popular Ceed which has been designed, engineered and developed and also built in Europe.
It will be available later in 2018 as a five door hatchback and will strengthen the firm’s presence in the competitive C-segment.

The all-new Kia Ceed will also feature innovative new technologies and a more engaging drive.
The boost to the handling is partly down to the lower stance of the new model which is also wider than the car it replaces and there is also a contemporary new design as well.
For those wanting more space, the Sportswagon has a boot of 600 litres, when the rear seats are folded flat, one of the largest in its segment. The hatchback has 395 litres of luggage space.
Engines for the new Kia Ceed
The engines for the new Kia Ceed are varied in a bid to attract a wide range of buyers. That’s why there are three petrol choices including the excellent 1.0 litre T-GDI which produces 120 PS and there’s a new 1.4 litre petrol engine producing 140 PS.
There are also new diesel engines, they are designed to go beyond the Euro6 emissions standard, with selective catalytic reduction to reduce emissions further.
There are a range of power outputs, 115 PS and 136 PS and a new 1.6 litre diesel unit to choose from. All of the engines are coupled to a six speed manual box while the firm’s seven speed double clutch transmission is available for the diesel engines.
The new Kia Ceed also has a drive mode selection system so drivers can tailor the steering and engine characteristics to suit their own style and needs.

There’s also lots equipment on board including Kia’s advanced driver assistance systems such as a new driver attention warning system, forward collision warning and avoidance, lane keeping assist and high beam assist.
The new hatchback will be available in the next few months across Europe, while the estate choice will be available in late 2018.
