The order books have opened for the Audi e-tron which is the firm’s first fully electric vehicle.
Audi says the e-tron is the first of what will be a fast-growing electric vehicle offering and the new five-seat SUV will be followed by at least 11 all-electric Audi models that will be unveiled over the next six years.
The e-tron and the e-tron Launch Edition will see deliveries starting in April with the firm also offering a limited edition, the e-tron Edition One with a unique specification.
The new vehicles are packed with equipment and there’s a lot to recommend them.
Driving range for the new Audi e-tron
The driving range for the new Audi e-tron is up to 241 miles and it will sprint from 0 to 62 mph in less than six seconds.
The new vehicle will also be able to recharge to 80% of its capacity at a fast charging station in 30 minutes.
The e-tron features a 95 kWh battery that powers one electric motor for each axle so there is a combined output of 300 kW.
The all-electric delivery means that the cabin is nearly silent and travel is smooth with the quattro all-wheel drive system delivering excellent grip and a firm stance.
Specification available for the Audi e-tron
There is a comprehensive specification available for the Audi e-tron including LED headlights, 20-inch alloy wheels and adaptive air suspension to deliver a smooth ride.
In-car technology sees the addition of the firm’s virtual cockpit, Audi connect and a satnav system.
The Audi e-tron launch edition features upgraded leather upholstery, matrix LED lighting, 21-inch alloy wheels and virtual door mirrors.

The kit on the e-tron launch edition includes adaptive cruise assistant, 360° camera with panoramic views of the car’s exterior to help parking and a camera-based traffic sign recognition.
The new cars also have distinctive styling to help them stand out with an impressive interior featuring leather upholstery along with an electric steering wheel and a panoramic glass roof.
The new all-electric Audi e-tron is available from £71,490 OTR while the e-tron Launch Edition costs £82,240 OTR.
