The prices and specification for the new Mercedes GLB, an impressive new compact SUV from the German carmaker, have been unveiled.
Prices start at £34,200 for the entry-level GLB 200 Sport that features seven seats. The most expensive price tag is for the GLB 220 d 4Matic AMG Line Premium Plus at £45,950.
There’s also a lot of equipment being specified as standard with the entry level model featuring 18-inch alloy wheels, comfort suspension and dynamic select that features four driving mode choices.
The car also features a 180° reversing camera, two zone climate control, heated front seats and aluminium roof rails.
Engines for the Mercedes GLB 200
The engines for the Mercedes GLB 200 include a four-cylinder petrol unit producing 163 HP that delivers a top speed of 129 mph and a sprint time from 0 to 62 mph of nine seconds.
The automatic 7G-DCT transmission is fitted as standard to help deliver fuel economy of 47 mpg with emissions of 138g/km.
There’s also the option of a four-cylinder 2.0 litre diesel unit producing 150 HP which will return 57 mpg and emissions of 133g/km. The diesel models are coupled to an 8G-DCT transmission.
For those who want more power, the range topper, the GLB 220 d 4Matic has a four-cylinder diesel unit producing 190 HP to deliver a sprint time of 7.6 seconds and a top speed of 135 mph.
Equipment for the Mercedes GLB
Safety equipment for the Mercedes GLB includes active brake assist, speed limit assist, attention assist and Keyless-Go locking and unlocking.
The AMG Line models feature 19-inch alloy wheels, privacy glass, AMG body styling and leather upholstery.
The Premium offering includes ambient lighting and a parking package that has a reversing camera and parking sensors, augmented reality navigation and a 10.25-inch infotainment display.
These better spec’d models also have the firm’s digital cockpit, smartphone integration with wireless charging and an impressive top-end sound system.
There’s a lot to like about the new Mercedes GLB and the order books are open now with the first deliveries beginning in December.
