FVL Vauxhall Corsa Electric Vehicle Summer 2024 Price Drop

If you’re interested in having a small electric car but thought it was out of your price range, think again. First Vehicle Leasing (FVL) Vauxhall Corsa Electric Vehicle Summer 2024 Price Drop.

If you want to take advantage of an EV deal, the Vauxhall Corsa Electric might be the right choice.

While other options have unique and quirky styling to attract attention, the Vauxhall Corsa Electric Vehicle has a more understated design.

If this exceptional vehicle were to participate in the Oscars, it would unquestionably secure a nomination for best supporting role.

While its performance is commendable, other, more visually striking competitors are contending for the lead actor credits.

Corsa EV 222 Mile Range

However, the Vauxhall Corsa Electric stands out in terms of its practicality. With a claimed range of up to 222 miles* between charges, it offers a reliable driving experience while other cars like the Mini Electric or Honda E are still recharging.

Like the regular Corsa, the Corsa Electric boasts a sleek exterior design that exudes style and sophistication.

The bold grille, snazzy LED headlight clusters at the front, and the sharp creases along the sides and rear all contribute to its understated yet elegant look.

The ‘e’ badges along the side and at the back mark it as an electric car, adding a touch of modernity.

Corsa EV Connected Interior

The Corsa Electric has a decent interior and all the tech features you want, including a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with satellite navigation and support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

However, the infotainment system could be more user-friendly, even if you opt for the larger 10.0-inch screen in the higher-spec Ultimate model.

Regarding space, the Corsa Electric’s front seats are comfortable and offer plenty of adjustments for the driver, ensuring a personalised and enjoyable driving experience.

The back seats have average headroom, similar to the standard Corsa. The boot size of the Corsa Electric remains the same as the standard version due to its clever battery placement, which means it’s not the largest for a car of this size, but still reasonable.

Vauxhall Corsa 136bhp

The Corsa Electric is equipped with a 136hp electric motor, which provides not just performance but quick performance that will surely excite you.

If you have a 7kW wall charger, it will take over 7 hours to fully charge the Corsa Electric from empty*. However, using a public rapid charge point only takes 30 minutes to charge the batteries from flat to 80% capacity.

Orange Vauxhall Corsa Electric Vehicle

When it comes to urban driving, the Corsa Electric truly shines. Its instant acceleration, a hallmark of electric cars, makes for nimble manoeuvring, perfect for weaving through city traffic and making swift exits at junctions.

Unlike its rivals, the Vauxhall Corsa EV performs admirably on the motorway. It boasts a serene and comfortable ride, and its standard adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assistance ensure a relaxed and steady driving experience on long stretches of road.

Corsa EV Mode Choice

Corsa Electric does not offer a manual version like other electric vehicles. However, the Corsa allows switching between driving modes, including Sport, Normal, and Eco. Engaging Sport mode delivers an exhilarating driving experience, while Normal mode suits everyday driving.

Eco mode maximises range, albeit at the cost of some driving enjoyment. It dulls steering and acceleration to conserve power, serving as a practical choice but with diminished driving pleasure.

There are more stand-out electric cars out there –with more range or style – but the Corsa Electric is familiar enough to make the switch to EVs pretty straightforward. Sure, it’s expensive for a Corsa, but it’s well-equipped and fun to drive.

This market reveals several EV options, but the Corsa Electric is competitively priced. It is just under the base model Honda E and cheaper than the Mini Electric.

Corsa EV about town

If you’re spending much of your time in town, the Corsa Electric is the best option out of all the models in the range. The main advantages are the silent operation and automatic gearbox.

While the Corsa EV’s suspension is relatively soft, it is great for drivers encountering potholes or other sizeable bumps.

Another area where the Corsa impresses is its 10.8-meter turning circle. That makes a big difference when negotiating tight turns in town or mini-roundabouts. In addition, the steering is very light, which helps when parking on the road or in car parks.

Visibility out of the back window is pretty good, although the wide rear pillar slightly hampered it. Thankfully, the car’s reversing camera and sensors help here and provide much-needed extra assistance and peace of mind.

The Corsa Electric does not offer one-pedal driving, so engaging the regenerative braking mode by selecting the ‘B’ mode on the gear lever will slow you down but not bring the car to a complete stop.

Corsa EV On the motorway

Faster roads might not be the natural environment for the Corsa Electric, but it performs admirably on motorways.

There is plenty of acceleration from mid-range speeds, and when travelling at a consistent speed, things are relatively quiet in the cabin,

Cruising on the motorway will eat into your available miles, but for such a small car, the Vauxhall offers a decent driving range to begin with, so it’s not as big an issue as for some other models,

Country Roads

The Corsa Electric’s light steering might be great in town, but head out onto the open and faster B roads, and it copes admirably. Put the car into Sport mode, and with that extra weight, it gives a feel more suited to driving faster.

The Corsa goes around corners well, and there’s plenty of grip, which inspires confidence.

Acceleration is good, though, and the instant availability of the power is a big plus. There is an eco mode for those who prefer to mind the mileage rather than the thrills.

VAUXHALL CORSA ELECTRIC HATCHBACK Interior Space

For a small car, there is quite a bit of room in the front, and the driving position is very comfortable, although taller rear passengers may feel a bit cramped.

One of the pleasing attributes of the Vauxhall Corsa Electric Vehicle is the well-set driving position. Drivers have the option of sitting quite low to the floor for a more sporty feel in the car, too. Headroom is not an issue for the driver, and the front passenger area is pretty spacious overall.

Corsa Interior

There is plenty of adjustment on the seat and steering wheel in all directions, and it is easy to operate despite all the movement being manually controlled.

Storage-wise, there are a couple of cupholders in the centre console and a larger square storage tray below the dash and behind the gear lever.

Also, in the centre of the car is some additional storage under the armrest, and there are big door bins that easily accommodate small and medium-sized bottles.

Space in VAUXHALL CORSA ELECTRIC VEHICLE

Moving to the rear of the Vauxhall EV, the headroom is not too bad – most people travelling in the back won’t be hitting their heads on the roof, unlike some comparable models.

Many EVs have batteries on the floor, which means less legroom because the level is raised. This isn’t the case with Corsa Electric because it was designed first and foremost as a car with a conventional engine.

Therefore, the footwells are spacious, and you can stretch your legs out.

Corsa rear middle passengers will have to contend with a ridge in the floor. It’s not the most spacious seat, but it’s a compromise with the battery layout. If you are going to try and travel five-up, make sure you are close friends

The ISOFIX points for baby and child seats are hidden behind a zipped pocket. It looks neat, but it could be more comfortable from a practical and functional point of view.

Fitting those seats, however, is reasonably straightforward – you might have to raise the rear headrest, but installation should be possible without moving the front passenger seat.

Storage-wise, there are good-sized door bins and seat-back pockets for books, magazines, tablets, or small laptops.

Vauxhall Corsa Electric Vehicle Boot space

The conventional petrol version of the Corsa has a boot space of just over 300 litres, which is average for a small hatchback.

However, if you choose the electric version, the batteries take up some of that boot space, dropping to 267 litres. It’s still good—certainly enough for a suitcase or two—but something to bear in mind for big travellers.

If this is an issue, there are plenty of top boxes for Corsa.

Vauxhall Corsa Electric Vehicle Interior style, infotainment and accessories

The layout of the controls works well, with everything in the right place. Like the conventional Corsa, the interior of the electrified version of the car is understated rather than something that is trying to make a statement.

The quality is good, practical and has a quality feel. The materials are good enough, and the doors have some leatherette areas.

The seats are decent, and overall, the quality levels are high. All of the major elements in the front of the car feel robust.

The centre of the dash has a 7.0-inch infotainment screen that can be linked with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay. The menus are comprehensive and might take a bit of getting used to, by which time you could have decided to revert to your smartphone.

Similarly, the digital driver’s display behind the steering wheel might do its job well enough. As you might like or expect, the graphics are sharp but don’t offer much information.

However, almost everything in the Vauxhall Corsa Electric Vehicle has been laid out logically, with physical buttons for several items, including the heating controls and the lane departure warning system.

As some drivers aren’t keen on this feature, disabling it is much easier than hunting through one of the infotainment menus.

Hybrid or Electric? Leasing which is best

Corsa Electric range, charging.

Vauxhall’s small electric hatchback has a 45kWh battery pack, which provides a theoretical range of up to 220 miles. The car can be charged at a DC fast charger at speeds of up to 100kW, but there is also the option of 11kW onboard charging via a wall box at home or at public charging sites.

Using the 11kW option, the battery can be fully charged from empty in around five hours, which is better than some models’ much longer charging times.

Many unofficial real-world testers suggest 174 miles from the Corsa Electric, 83% of its claimed range. Check the official WLTP figures.

Performance-wise, the little Vauxhall will hit 60mph from a standstill in 7.6 seconds,* which is pretty good. Not that performance from a standing start is the most important factor in an EV.

Corsa Safety and security

There’s an adequate selection of airbags, with side head and chest airbags around. Other safety systems include autonomous emergency braking for pedestrians; cyclists offer the same offering as part of a Corsa safety pack.

The Corsa Electric offers a keyless start and is fitted with an immobiliser and a security alarm system for peace of mind.
