The specification and prices for the excellent new Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster have been unveiled and they will start from £110,000.
Mercedes has also revealed that the price for its AMG GT C Roadster will start from £139,000 while the AMG GT R is priced from £143,000.
That’s a lot of money but the cars offer impressive levels of handling with the GT range featuring a V8 twin-turbocharged 4.0 litre engine. This potent unit will deliver 476 bhp in the GT Roadster and 557 bhp for the GT C Roadster.
Sprint time for the GT Roadster
It should come as no surprise that the sprint time for the GT Roadster will see it rocket from 0 to 62 mph in just four seconds while the GT C Roadster will do this in 3.7 seconds; the GT R Coupe will do this sprint a second quicker.
However, this level of performance brings economy of just 30 mpg on the combined cycle with emissions of 219g/km and even less in the GT C Roadster of 25 mpg emissions of 259g/km.
To help keep the occupants warm and insulated from noise, there is a three layer fabric roof that comes in a choice of three colours – dark red, beige or black.
The roof itself can be closed or opened in 11 seconds at speeds of up to 31 mph.
The Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster
The Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster comes with 19-inch alloy wheels, a wind deflector and AMG’s performance exhaust system. There’s also heated sports seats with Airscarf and black leather upholstery.
The GT C Roadster has 19-inch alloy wheels on the front of the car and 20 alloy wheels at the rear. There’s also a reversing camera, keyless go, active air control system which helps to reduce drag and boost high-speed stability and a surround sound system.
Options aren’t cheap but include adding AMG lettering on brushed stainless steel door sills, a parking camera and a better surround sound system.

For those who decide to spend the extra on the Mercedes-AMG GT R then they have sports bucket seats, a carbon fibre roof, a rear aerofoil, interior light package, black inserts, sports tyres and AMG’s performance steering wheel.
The Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster will also make for a sound choice for those who enjoy track days and there’s a package for this purpose which includes a four-point seatbelt harness, roll cage and fire extinguisher. That’s pricy enough but ceramic brakes will be an extra £6,000.
