Mokka. It sounds like a coffee and looks like a Toyota RAV 4 but Vauxhall has high hopes for their new SUV.
I drove the Frontera before it was officially launched and people on the streets were underwhelmed with it. I really liked their first foray into 4×4 territory – even if it was a pale copy of the Isuzu Trooper and had a dubious build quality.
The small crossover segment is a huge market and Vauxhall obviously high hopes for the Mokka which isn’t available until November.
It was thought the entry price would be around £14,500 which would pitch it against the decent Nissan cars the Juke and Qashqai and also Skoda’s impressive Yeti.
However it’s going to cost from £16,995 but will have generous kit across the entire range. There will be three trims, three engines, two transmissions and choice of FWD and AWD.
The Mokka is ‘available to order now’.
