It not only has an excellent badge and stylish good looks, but the Jaguar F-Pace is an SUV that is fun to drive. It's also a practical choice with lots of comfort and refinement on board.

Engines and performance for the Jaguar F-Pace

Under the bonnet, the Jaguar F-Pace has a choice of very good engines as standard; there's a 3.0 litre petrol unit producing up to 300 HP and 2.0 litre diesels producing either 163, 180 or 240 HP. For those who like more thrills behind the wheel, the Jaguar F-Pace SVR has a 5.0 litre supercharged V8 petrol unit which will sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.1 seconds. It's a tad lighter than the standard F-Pace which completes the distance in 10 seconds. The fuel economy for the diesel unit, which is the most popular choice with drivers, is 52 mpg.

Equipment and handling

The Jaguar F-Pace is not only a smart looking SUV but there is a lot of space on board and it's a really nice car to drive. The infotainment system is excellent and there's lots of equipment on board too. The boot is also spacious and practical and there's little body roll when the car is being put through its paces. Indeed, it feels more like a nippy saloon than an SUV with the stronger engines delivering better levels of performance, particularly over long journeys. One reason for the great levels of handling is a fairly stiff suspension and adaptive dampers that manage to smooth out the road's bumps and the eight-speed automatic transmission delivers a smooth operation. There's a good view of the road ahead for the driver and the interior looks and feels like a Jaguar creation with ambient interior lighting and leather upholstery making the cabin a pleasant place to be. Other models come with a panoramic roof, electrically adjustable front seats, a rear view camera and xenon headlights. While the Jaguar F-Pace is up against some stiff competition, it handles better than many of its rivals and offers a luxurious alternative to most of them too.
