This is the radical new look for the Yaris as part of a revamp that includes greater refinement and efficient engines.
Toyota says that this isn’t just a midlife facelift for its Yaris range and is instead a big improvement to most aspects of the popular car including improving comfort levels, handling and ride.
In addition, the revamp has seen an improvement to 1,000 parts and other models in their line-up are likely to follow the same design style.
New Yaris review: A radical new look
Toyota says the improvements have been made after listening to public feedback and they’ve built on the aspects that have made the it popular in a bid to extend its appeal.
The new design follows in the footsteps of the firm’s new Aygo with a new cross-shaped front end along with new headlights and bumper, with a new light cluster and diffuser at the rear.
It also has a much improved cabin with quality materials being used to help it feel and look better.
The ride has also been improved with a new suspension which also reduces vibration levels and noise.
New Yaris review: Refined engines
However, there still a choice of two petrol engines, a diesel unit and a hybrid with all of the engines offer more refinement and economy.
Indeed, Toyota have developed a new three-cylinder petrol unit whose CO2 emissions drop below 100g/km for the first time.
The hybrid Yaris also sees its CO2 emissions reduced from 79g/km to 75g/km while returning around 86 mpg on the combined fuel cycle.
With figures like this, it’s no surprise to learn that the hybrid makes up 25% of all sales of the vehicle.
