The Citroen C1 Furio extends the range
This is the excellent Citroen C1 Furio and it is car that builds on the firm’s sporty credentials to deliver a fun ride for young drivers.
Indeed, it’s an affordable and sporty looking car with a range of new features with the entry-level model starting at £10,855.
The three door hatchback has a striking exterior that should appeal to young drivers who are looking for a small car with a sporty look but who do not want the premium that comes with having such a car with a powerful engine.
There are just two engines available, the VTi 68 and the PureTech 82. Both are mated to a manual transmission.
Both are also three cylinder engines with the entry-level model featuring a 1.0 litre unit that will produce 67 bhp and return 69 mpg while the PureTech is a 1.2 litre unit producing 81 bhp and which should return 66 mpg. It helps that both engines have CO2 emissions of less that 100g/km and both are coupled to a five-speed manual box.

Essentially, the Citroen C1 Furio is a revamped C1 ‘Feel’ model with 15-inch alloy wheels, ‘sunrise red’ door mirrors and bold exterior graphics plus new eye-catching body colour paint options.
The sporty look is complemented with the addition of a centre exhaust outlet and a rear diffuser. Inside, there’s a special grey cloth upholstery and the addition of a rev counter.
Citroen has established itself as a leader in the city car segment and has produced a number of motorsport inspired cars including the surprisingly well-handled AX Sport and the C2 ‘by Loeb’.

The cars are up against some interesting rivals including the Skoda Citigo Monte Carlo which also has some of the sport features including a 1.0 litre three-cylinder engine along with a spoiler and bespoke alloy wheels.
